Planning to Dig?
Remember, if you are planning to dig on your property, it is important to call us first for a locate. Many of our lines are underground, and digging without the cables being located poses a serious threat of injury, damage and probable loss of service, resulting in charges to restore the damaged service.
Electrical Inspection
If you have work performed on your electrical service by an electrician (i.e. upgrades, repairs, etc.), the completed work must be inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA). The ESA can be reached at 1-877-372-7233.
Private Primary Lines
If you are electrically serviced by a private primary line then you own the line and are responsible for the expense of the line maintenance and tree trimming.
For your safety, any trees to be trimmed near energized lines MUST be done by an approved tree contractor. If you choose to do any tree work yourself, Innisfil Hydro will disconnect/reconnect the line at no charge once a year during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
